How to download in 1080p and above
After the link is analysed you get a list of available resolutions. Pick the one you want — 1080p, say — and press Download. If you would rather not think about numbers, leave Best available and the highest existing track is used.
Quality is bounded by the source. If the creator uploaded 720p, no tool can produce genuine 1080p or 4K from it — upscaling only stretches the picture. That is why only real options are listed.
On YouTube, high-resolution video and audio are stored as separate tracks. The server fetches both and muxes them into a single MP4, so you get a finished video with sound rather than a silent file to fix later.
Higher resolution means a bigger file and a longer wait. Ten minutes at 1080p is typically tens of megabytes; the same clip in 4K can be several times that — noticeable on mobile data.

A light option for phone screens and slow connections: crisp enough, noticeably smaller.
The all-round choice: good on a phone and on a TV, with a sensible file size.

Choosing a resolution
For phone viewing 720p is usually enough: on a six-inch screen the gap to 1080p is hard to see, while the file is smaller and faster. It is the practical pick on a limited data plan.
For a TV or projector take 1080p or higher — on a large diagonal, missing resolution shows immediately. If 4K exists and you have the storage, it pays off for cinematic and landscape footage.
If an expected resolution is missing, the video does not have it. High-quality tracks sometimes appear a while after publication, as YouTube finishes processing them, so the list can grow later.
