Do I need to install anything to download by link?

No. Everything happens on the server and in your browser: you paste an address, the file is prepared, the browser saves it.

Do youtu.be short links work?

Yes, and they are the most common case — that is what the app's Share button gives you. A trailing timestamp does not matter.

What happens with a playlist link?

Only the video whose id is in the link gets processed. Whole playlists are not downloaded.

Can I paste several links at once?

No, one link per run. Download the first video, press Download another video and paste the next address.

Is my link stored afterwards?

The address is used only to prepare the file and is never published. The prepared file stays in a temporary cache briefly and is then deleted.

Why is my link reported as invalid?

It is most likely a channel, playlist or search address, or the link was copied incompletely. A single video page address is required.

The link opens for me but not here. Why?

The video is probably visible to you as a signed-in viewer: private, unlisted or age-restricted. This tool handles public videos only.

The only thing this tool needs is the video address. Copy the link in the app or your browser, paste it below and get a ready MP4 or MP3 file — no software, no extension, no account.

How downloading by link works

Downloading by link is the simplest route: you install nothing, you grant no extension access to every page you visit and you never hand over an account password. A public video address is all the service needs; the rest happens server-side.

Once you paste a link it is parsed, the video is identified and the available tracks are listed. The title, thumbnail, duration and quality options appear on screen — those are the variants that genuinely exist for that upload, not a generic template.

Then you choose what to keep: an MP4 holding video and sound in one file, or the audio alone as MP3. The server assembles the file, hands it to your browser and drops the temporary copy. Neither the link nor the file is published or shared.

The link can come from anywhere: the YouTube mobile app, a desktop browser, a chat where someone sent it, or your watch history. Extra parameters — timestamps, playlist ids, messenger tracking tags — are stripped automatically.

The link the Share button produces in the app. A trailing ?t=125 timestamp is simply ignored.

YouTube Shorts

youtube.com/shorts/… addresses are handled like regular videos and saved in vertical framing.

Links from a playlist

If the address carries &list=…, only the video the link points at is downloaded, never the whole playlist.

If a link is rejected

Check that you copied the full address. Messengers sometimes trim links down to text without https:// or append stray characters — reopening the video and copying the address again from the address bar is the reliable fix.

Make sure the video opens in a browser without signing in. Private and unlisted uploads, age-restricted material and paid broadcasts need authenticated access this service does not have, so they cannot be processed.

Channel pages, whole playlists, live streams and search results are not valid inputs: a single video address is required. Open the video itself and copy the link from its page.

Copying the link on a phone

In the YouTube app on Android and iPhone:

1Open the video and tap Share below the player.
2Choose Copy link — the address goes to your clipboard.
3Come back to this page, tap the input field and choose Paste.
4Press Find video, pick a format and download the file.

Copying the link on a computer

In any browser on Windows, macOS or Linux:

1Open the video on youtube.com in its own tab.
2Select the address bar and copy it (Ctrl+C or ⌘+C); the Share button works too.
